The eighth annual Gander Invitational Ski Meet is on for Sunday, March 11. The race caters to all ages and to racers and non-racers. Participation is as important as the competition. There will be a variety of distances with 200m, 500m, 1k and 2k events for children depending on their age and both Classic (diagonal stride) and freestyle (skating) events for the longer distances of 5k, 10k, or 15k. These distances may change a little depending on the trails that are available. All the trails were groomed this morning and would be usable if we had the race now. Registration will soon be up on Zone 4 and more details will follow.
Sinbad’s has a block of rooms set aside for the event. The rate is $92 a room and it is important to book soon.
