Jillian Forsey wins Bronze at National Cross Country Ski Championships - Canmore Alberta

March 19, 2010

Jillian Forsey of Whaleback Nordic skied to a 3rd place finish in the 7.5 km Skate Mass Start event on the final day of competition at the National Championships in Canmore Alberta. In a field of 63 Juvenile Girls, Forsey pulled away from the majority of the field to capture the Bronze Medal. This performance surpassed her strong 5th place finish she skied in the 5 km Skate Individual Start at the beginning of the week in the same category.

Following the podium finish Forsey explained that after the start of the race she was sitting in about twentieth place and slowly moved to the lead pack. Soon she was pulling away from the field and fighting for third position with Sophie Carrier-Laforte of Quebec. Forsey completed the course in 20:43.7.
